The Miracle of Mindfulness
In this beautiful and lucid guide, Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh offers gentle anecdotes and practical exercises as a means of learning the skills of mindfulness—being awake and fully aware. From washing the dishes to answering the phone to peeling an orange, he reminds us that each moment holds within it an opportunity to work toward greater self-understanding and peacefulness.
Thich Nhat Hanh was born in central Vietnam in 1926 and lived in a country at war until he was forced into exile in the 1960s for advocating peace between the warring sides. He was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., described by H. H. the Dalai Lama as someone whose teachings "can change individual lives and the life of our society, . . . [drawing] the connection between personal, inner peace and peace on Earth." Thich Nhat Hanh returned to Vietnam after more than half a century in exile and died in January 2022.
British narrator John Lee has read audiobooks in almost every conceivable genre, from Charles Dickens to Patrick O'Brian, and from the very real life of Napoleon to the entirely imagined lives of sorcerers and swashbucklers. He has won numerous Audie Awards and AudioFile Earphones Awards, and he was named a Golden Voice by AudioFile in 2009. Lee is also an accomplished stage actor and wrote and coproduced the feature films Breathing Hard and Forfeit.
