Gabriel García Márquez (1927–2014), author, journalist, and novelist, is considered one of the most influential writers of the twentieth century, particularly in the Spanish language. He was awarded the 1972 Neustadt International Prize for Literature and the 1982 Nobel Prize in Literature.
British narrator John Lee has read audiobooks in almost every conceivable genre, from Charles Dickens to Patrick O'Brian, and from the very real life of Napoleon to the entirely imagined lives of sorcerers and swashbucklers. He has won numerous Audie Awards and AudioFile Earphones Awards, and he was named a Golden Voice by AudioFile in 2009. Lee is also an accomplished stage actor and wrote and coproduced the feature films Breathing Hard and Forfeit.
Gregory Rabassa (1922–2016) was an American literary translator from Spanish and Portuguese to English. His translations include works by Gabriel García Márquez, Julio Cortázar, and Jorge Franco. He taught for many years at Columbia University and Queens College.
