Bookseller recommendation
“On one of his early morning walks around his Paris neighborhood bookshop owner Laurent finds a woman's bag left by a trash bin, nothing is left in it but a signed Modiano novel and a red notebook, with no name in it. Determined to find the owner of the bag Laurent breaks from his unadventurous life and follows the clues he finds in the notebook. Though it isn't long Laurain lets us in on the lives of two very human characters. He also explores how our personalities form the way we spend our lives.... or is it how we live our lives informs who we are? If you love bookshops, Paris, and beautiful language this is for you.”
— Stacey • Tattered Cover
Heroic bookseller Laurent Letellier comes across an abandoned handbag on a Parisian street. There's nothing in the bag to indicate who it belongs to, although there's all sorts of other things in it. Laurent feels a strong impulse to find the owner and tries to puzzle together who she might be from the contents of the bag. Especially a red notebook with her jottings, which really makes him want to meet her. Without even a name to go on, and only a few of her possessions to help him, how is he to find one woman in a city of millions?
