For over a decade, I’ve been captivated by the idea of this book, which goes beyond profiling well-known locals in Orange County. It focuses on individuals who contribute significantly to the region’s culture and beyond, showcasing a diverse range of stories. Despite stereotypes perpetuated by reality TV, this book highlights the real essence of OC through figures like Steve Van Doren of Vans, Megan Klink of Susan G. Komen, and Anton Segerstrom, whose family’s legacy spans agriculture to the arts.
