Poison for Breakfast
“I have never been so entertained while being utterly clueless. This stream of consciousness tangential novelette is a bit of a wild ride. Although seemingly a quick read it stands to take your time as you discover this is a tale of philosophical proportions. After discovering he has had poison for breakfast, we follow Mr. Snicket as he investigates the ingredients of his meal, recounts memories, divulges the secrets behind writing, and finally solves the mystery plaguing him in a manner most surprising. Bonus points for being narrated by Patrick Warburton.”Ashlee, Vroman's Bookstore

The Secret History
In this brilliant novel from Donna Tartt, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of The Goldfinch, comes a richly textured and hypnotic story of golden youth corrupted by its own moral arrogance.
Richard Papen had never been to New England before his nineteenth year. Then he arrived at Hampeden College and quickly became seduced by the sweet, dark...Read more »
The Lincoln Highway
If you enjoyed This Tender Land, then you’ll love The Lincoln Highway.
“THIS BOOK EXCEEDED ALL EXPECTATIONS! As a huge fan of A Gentleman in Moscow and Rules of Civility, The Lincoln Highway had a lot of pressure and holy cow did it surpass anything I could have hoped for. From the first page, I was immediately drawn into Towles' magical writing and superb characters. This felt like a modern classic, the new and updated version of Huckleberry Finn that I actually wanted to read in high school. You cannot beat the quirkiness of Towles' characters. You feel so deeply about every single one of them and it feels like they leap off the page with specificities with which they are written. Duchess and Woolly, the stowaways, felt like a modern day George and Lennie from Of Mice and Men with Woolly's gentle giant innocence and Duchess' take-the-lead wile. Emmett is the stoic, do-right midwesterner who always fixes the messes. And Billy is the smartest, sweetest kid who inspires those around him. You fall in love with them and are left with all the feels. A glorious five out of five stars for me, The Lincoln Highway will be my go-to recommendation this fall.”Kimi, Buttonwood Books and Toys
The Cold Millions
By Jess Walter
Narrated by: Edoardo Ballerini, Gary Farmer, Marin Ireland, Cassandra Campbell, MacLeod Andrews, Tim Gerard Reynolds, Mike Ortego, Rex Anderson, Charlie Thurston & Frankie Corzo
Length: 11 hours 29 minutes
“The gorgeous writing, vivid setting, compelling characters, and engrossing story aren’t even the best parts of this novel. Instead, I just keep marveling at how Jess Walter takes events from history to illuminate our present while keeping them rooted in their own time, from the labor movement to class, race, and gender equality and civil rights issues, to protests and freedom of speech. The northwest in 1909 has never been so relevant. Beautiful Ruins was a hard act to follow but, amazingly, Walter manages it with aplomb.”Ariana Paliobagis, The Country Bookshop
Essays of Undoing

Weaving together the erosion of our planet & the rise of for profit politics while coping with the loss of her brother, Terry Tempest Williams offers us hope, resilience and courage in the face of surrounding heartbreak.”Kaya, Collected Works Bookstore

On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous
“My words can't do justice to how beautiful the language is in this book. Listening to the author read it was so raw and engaging. This book was emotionally painful in a lot of parts but just touched me on so many levels. Definitely the best book that I've listened to (and read) so far this year.”Suzie, Tattered Cover
