The Marriage Portrait

A novel

By Maggie O'Farrell
Narrated by: Genevieve Gaunt & Maggie O'Farrell
Length: 13 hours 21 minutes

If you enjoyed Horse, then you’ll love The Marriage Portrait.

“Brilliantly read by Genevieve Gaunt, I could not pause The Marriage Portrait. The story of the young dutchess Lucrezia de Medici, I listened while walking the dogs, making dinner, and driving to work. Maggie O’Farrell, who authored Hamnet, is the master of creating tension through the details of the day. Loved every beautiful sentence and am not sure what to do with my life now that it’s over.”

The Dog of the North

A Novel

By Elizabeth McKenzie
Narrated by: Katherine Littrell
Length: 9 hours 5 minutes

The Dog of the North

“Penny Rush wants to start her messy life over. When she heads to Santa Barbara to visit her grandmother, a supposedly retired doctor, bayonet brandisher, and hoarder of many things (including human bones), she realises that she's in way over her head. Penny’s days becomes populated by other idiosyncratic characters who keep popping up in her life and need her care. One of them owns an old van filled with detritus that he dubs, 'The Dog of the North', and Penny finds herself on a road trip with him and finds not only new towns but also insights into herself and the healing of old wounds that she wouldn’t have imagined possible. The Dog Of The North touched my heart deeply, made me laugh, and reminded me why good stories and great writing are such a blessing in my life.”
