For many years she worked as an editor and writer forthe student magazines published by the Education Department, and later as a relieving assistant principal in ten different schools. More recently, through the Royal Children's Hospital, she tutored students with chronic llnesses or brain injuries. Mary is an active member of the international online community The Addict's Mom. She lives in Melbourne.
Mary visits Anna twice a week at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre, Melbourne's maximum-security prison for women, where she has come to know many families of women in crisis.

Since graduating from NIDA in 1984, Jennifer has carved out an impressive career as a dramatic actress, music theatre star, cabaret performer and voiceover artist. She has worked with the who's who of Australian directors in all aspects of the industry. Most recently, Jennifer appeared in My Dearworthy Darling for Malthouse. She has previously appeared in the Malthouse/STC co-production of The Histrionic. Her numerous stage credits include more recently Arbus & West (MTC) Merciless Gods (Little Ones Theatre/Griffin Theatre Company) Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Cafe Rebetika, Mamma Mia (10th Anniversary National Tour) Menopause the Musical and Barry Kosky's Women of Troy (STC). Jennifer is instantly recognisable as the voice of SBS Television and has worked extensively in radio drama. She is much sought-after as an audiobook narrator and has won several prizes for her work in this field. Most notably, she is the recipient of the 1993 3M Talking Book of the Year Award for Lover's Knots; 1997 TDK Unabridged Fiction Award for The God of Small Things and the1998 Trish Trinick Prize for the Best Narrator of The God of Small Things. Jennifer also narrated the multiple international award winning Once My Mother.
