Even if you've read Why Does He Do That?, it may be hard to see the truth of what is happening to you. You may feel overwhelmed by confusion, loss, and fear, and find yourself looking away from the truth and falling back into traumatic patterns.

Like a constant friend, this collection of meditations is a source of strength and reassurance designed to speak to women like you, women in relationships with angry and controlling men. It helps you to digest what is happening a piece at a time, so that you can gain clarity, safety, and freedom. To learn to value and respect yourself—even when your partner makes it very clear that he does not—each day centers on one of seven themes designed to empower, encourage, and inspire you . . .

For over twenty years Lundy Bancroft, the author of the national bestseller Why Does He Do That?, has specialized in counseling men who are unhealthy relationship partners, helping them make lasting changes. He is considered one of the world's experts on domestic abuse and the behavior of abusive men; his journal articles on the subject have appeared in such publications as the New England Journal of Medicine and the Journal of Contemporary Psychology. A former codirector at Emerge, the nation's first program for abusive men, Lundy now practices in Massachusetts while training various state and judicial agencies in dealing with domestic abuse situations.

Gary Galone comes to audiobooks as an actor, having worked in numerous TV, film, and theater projects for many years, including the movies Black Mass and Spotlight. Gary is an experienced voice-over performer who can employ a number of accents and dialects, including those of his home state of Massachusetts.
