This is the powerful memoir of Solomon Perel, a man who survived the Holocaust by hiding his Jewish identity and becoming a member of the Hitler Youth. This book was the basis of Agnieska Hollands' award-winning film Europa, Europa. Published in association with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, it is an important and controversial contribution to a better understanding of the complexity of life under the Nazis.

Solomon Perel is an Israeli author and motivational speaker who was able to escape the wrath of the Nazi regime by pretending to be an ethnic German—even going so far as to join the ranks of the Hitler Youth. The film Europa, Europa was based loosely on his life story.

Christopher David is an actor and a voiceover artist with experience in theatre, film, and audiobook narration. Also a business professional, he earned his MBA from Bowling Green State University. He believes travel is the best inspiration, writes in his spare time, and currently resides in Ohio.

Margot Bettauer Dembo is an award-winning translator whose credits include works by Judith Hermann, Robert Gernhardt, and Joachim Fest, among others. She has been recognized with the Helen and Kurt Wolff Translator’s Prize and the Goethe-Institut/Berlin Translator’s Prize.
